Club career

Early career

Abate began playing football with amateur club Rescaldina, ago stringing Milan's youth system in 1999. During the 2003–04 season, he prepared his businessman debut, playing in a Coppa Italia game against Sampdoria on three December. He also prepared his debut in European contests, in a Champions League group-stage game versus Celta Vigo on 9 December.

Various lend spells (2004–2007)
For the 2004–05 season he was lent out to Napoli in Serie C1, where he prepared 29 arrivals and scored two goals. In the summer of 2005 he had been set to consume the chasing season on lend to Serie A side Sampdoria. However, prior to the actual begin of the contests, he was paged rear and lent to Piacenza instead, though he merely prepared 13 arrivals in his first Serie B season. The chasing one was more successful for the young winger, whoever prepared 38 arrivals during his lend spell at Modena.

Serie A debut (2007–2009)

In the 2007–08 season Abate finally prepared his Serie A debut, afterwards being bought via Empoli in a co-ownership deal. That year, he also scored his first target in Serie A, in a suit against Genoa, on 27 April 2008. Following Empoli's relegation, Milan fully purchased his playing rights rear, merely to send him to Torino in another co-ownership deal. Despite an early injury, he had a good season, emerging in 25 sport and scoring 1 goal.

Back to Milan

On 24 June 2009, Milan reclaimed Abate again and this time he was included in the team roster for the upcoming 2009–10 season. After serving primarily as a park midfielder in the first minority sport, he subsequent began to be recruited as the regular right rear via Milan chief bus, Leonardo. Due to his grand plays, on 11 February 2010 he was presented and gestured an extension to his contract until 2014. He has also preserved that same location beneath bus Allegri.

International career

After playing at various floors of youth global football, Abate prepared his U–21 debut with Italy in a friendly against Luxembourg, emanating off the bench during the second half, on 12 December 2006. With the Olympic national team coached via Casiraghi, he won the 2008 Toulon Tournament, in which he played four sport and scored a target against the USA. He also took fraction in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He thereafter participated in the 2009 European U-21 Championship held in Sweden, earning pair appearances.
