Club career

Early career

Macheda originated his football career with Lazio. However, due to Italian football laws preventing under-18s from signing businessman contracts, he was not permanently tied to the club, and soon afterwards his 16th birthday, he was gestured via Manchester United of England, where laws allow the signing of players ageing 16 and up.Following his family's relocation to England, he officially stringed the club as a trainee on 16 September 2007, and originated a three-year scholarship in the club's Academy.
